Another thing that bothers me about Steve’s arc in endgame is that, all his friends, who he lost and missed in 5 years and who he never lost hope of getting back…after he does get them back… He just yeets out of there? (and no, the “he told Bucky” argument does not work here, because I’m also referring to Sam and others) Never to see them again for a long time? After more than a decade of building a family and acquiring new friends, trying to adjust himself to a new world, he say fuck it and goes back?? As if he wasn’t acclimated already to the new world?? What about Sam? What about Wanda? WHAT ABOUT BUCKY I WILL KEEP REPEATING THIS TILL THE END OF TIME.

What makes this sad and upsetting for me is that it makes it seem as if all those movies spent on developing Steve’s place in the new world, all those movies with Steve building friendship with the Avengers, just seems hella useless?? When he apparently doesn’t move on. When he apparently doesn’t value all the new things and all the new people he acquired from all those years enough to stay and continue life around them. And look, i don’t deny that he loved Peggy, and that he loved his friends from the 40s, but….

1. Bucky was already in the present???? The person who has been in his life the longest?? And AGAIN, the he told bucky argument does not work here, because what counts is that he still left to live the rest of his life without him, which in my opinion is out of character after he has repeatedly been characterized as endlessly loyal to him. I was never a stucky shipper, and I don’t even hype up their friendship (proof can be seen on my blog) , but you’re blind if you don’t think that Bucky is easily the most important person in his life.

2. You’re asking me to believe that his friends from the 40s, who mostly was his fellow soldiers who he has known for maybe less than 3 years?? Or much less?? Are more important and valued to him than his friends from the present (WHO AGAIN BUCKY IS PART OF) who he has been through so much shit with, and who he has been with for more than a decade? AND AGAIN WHO LITERALLY JUST APPEARED BACK FROM THE DEAD AFTER FIVE YEARS.

“I got a life” BITCH YOU ALREADY HAD A LIFE. And god, i just realized. Is this lowkey a toxic and stereotypical trope where “getting a life” equals to having a family and settling down?
